UPS Virtual — also known as UPS Virtual Airlines or UPSV — is a community-driven virtual cargo airline for flight simulation enthusiasts. We recreate real-world UPS Airlines freighter routes and hub operations across Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, MSFS 2024, X-Plane 11, X-Plane 12, and Prepar3D. From the overnight domestic sort at Worldport to long-haul international gateways, every timetable is refreshed daily from real-world schedules. Applying is free, there are no minimum hours and no type ratings to grind, and a VATSIM account is used for signup verification only — you never have to fly on VATSIM.

Why UPS Virtual

Why fly the line with UPS Virtual

Built by simmers, for simmers — the tools, community, and real-world cargo fidelity serious virtual aviation demands.

Real UPS freighter routes

Every flight is a route UPS actually operates — accurate city pairs, freighter equipment, and timetables pulled from real-world data and refreshed daily. No invented filler, no fantasy network.

Advanced custom ACARS tracking

Our purpose-built desktop ACARS client watches the whole flight and files your PIREP automatically. Push back, fly, shut down — the block hours are already in your logbook.

Worldport hub & sort operations

Fly the real overnight wave: feed the SDF sort, run the domestic next-day-air network, then push international out of the gateways. The schedule moves like the real operation.

Ranks you earn — Second Officer to Captain

Start as a Second Officer and upgrade on hours flown, not handouts. Your progression is yours, and the whole roster can see it.

Browse 900+ real UPS routes — domestic sort feeders, transcons, and long-haul international widebody runs — refreshed daily and bid from your hub.

0303

Fly and log automatically with ACARS

Connect the ACARS client before pushback, fly the leg, and your PIREP files itself. Every block hour lands in your logbook.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is UPS Virtual affiliated with UPS?
No. UPS Virtual is an independent, community-driven virtual airline for flight simulation enthusiasts and is not affiliated with United Parcel Service of America, Inc. We recreate real-world UPS Airlines freighter routes and operations purely as a hobby.
Is UPS Virtual free to join?
Yes. Applying is free — create your pilot account, choose a home gateway, and get your pilot ID. There are no minimum hours and no type ratings to grind; every freighter family is dispatchable from day one.
Which flight simulators are supported?
Every major desktop simulator: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, MSFS 2024, X-Plane 11, X-Plane 12, and Prepar3D. Fly UPS Virtual on whatever rig you already own.
Do I need a VATSIM account, and do I have to fly on VATSIM?
You need a free VATSIM account to apply — we use VATSIM OAuth for identity verification only and capture your VATSIM CID. You do not have to fly on VATSIM to be a UPS Virtual pilot.
How do I join, and how long does the application take?
Complete the online application (Overview, Personal Info, Experience, Gateway Selection, Review). You must be 16 or older. Applications are reviewed within 48 hours, and accepted pilots receive CrewHub login credentials.
How does flight tracking and PIREP filing work?
We built a custom desktop ACARS client. Connect it before pushback and your PIREP is filed automatically when you complete the flight — no manual logging and no missed block hours.
What aircraft can I fly?
Five freighter families spanning Airbus, Boeing, and McDonnell Douglas: the Boeing 747-8F, 767-300F, MD-11F, Airbus A300-600F, and Boeing 757-200PF — each with recommended third-party addons for MSFS and X-Plane.
Where can I fly, and how many gateways and routes are there?
Pick a home gateway and bid 900+ real UPS routes across more than 220 worldwide gateways and five continents, from 40-minute sort feeders to 14-hour transpacific hauls. Every route is refreshed daily from real-world schedules, and the full live schedule is searchable inside CrewHub once you are a pilot.
How does rank progression work?
You start as a Second Officer and earn your stripes through block hours flown. Every flight you log moves you closer to Captain.
What is the minimum age to join UPS Virtual?
You must be 16 years of age or older to apply.
